Someone tapped Coraline on the back and she jumped about a foot into the air. She swivelled around in her chair and her heart slowed a little as she saw it was only Wybie. He looked amused and a little concerned. Coraline yanked her headphones off, letting them rest around her neck. She impatiently blew a lock of short, bobbed blue hair from in front of her eyes.
"You scared the freakin' life outta me, Wybie!" Coraline snapped, trying to regain her composure. Wybie raised one dark eyebrow. Something he was annoyingly good at, Coraline thought bitterly.
"Sorry, guess you didn't hear me calling you, huh? Your mom sent me straight up." Wybie said, though he didn't sound apologetic. He sat down heavily on the end of Coraline's unmade bed. Coraline was about to bite out another snappy comment but it died on her tongue when she noted how...upset and tired Wybie looked. Coraline scooted over to him, sitting next to him on her bed.
